Horrible experience. The owner Van was very nice in the beginning. The contract he wrote up was very vague. When we asked him to add an item, he said that he'll include it, "don't worry about it." I should've been more insistent. When the work started, he didn't come visit to inspect the work. He only came by when it was time to collect the money. When we point out issues, he said that it's too late to fix it now. Too late? That's ridiculous. The work was not done right, and instead of fixing it, he ignored it.

Unfortunately, I should've given him a small project to see the quality of his work, but foolish me, I gave him a big contact which was a complete teardown of the kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms. We ran into his "it's too late" or "i don't have time to inspect the work" way too many times. Oh get this, after the 2nd payment installment, he never returned my phone calls. I was left with an unfinished half bathroom, and an gutted master bathroom for over a year. Yes OVER A YEAR. We had to utilize the one main "finished" bathroom.

After a year, enough was enough. I had to find another contractor to finish the job, and he did a good job. He couldn't fix the things that Van messed up on, and it's too much to fix it. So we have to live with the shoddy work. I strongly urge you to not go with him.
